Online Drum Lessons

Online Drum Lessons photoThanks for your interest in my online drum lessons!  Your time and money are valuable, and so is your dream of playing the drums well. Therefore, it’s important to find a teacher who will help you learn drumming in the most thorough, most efficient, and most enjoyable way possible. So why limit yourself to the handful of teachers who happen to live right in your local area? With today’s technology, I am able to accept students anywhere in the world and teach them in the same manner that I have taught hundreds of students in New York City!

There are 2 different ways for us to do this:

Online Drum Lessons Option #1

Skype. You have probably heard of this, even if you don’t have experience using it yet. Basically, it is a software that allows people to talk with each other, and see each other, in real time on their computer screens. It really is quite amazing. And what’s more, it’s FREE. If you are unfamiliar with Skype, have no fear. I will personally help you to get up and running with it. I think you will find that it’s actually very easy to use.

With Skype, you and I can literally have face-to-face lessons, the same as if you were meeting with me in person at one of my New York drum studios. We’ll be able to watch each other drumming, and we’ll be able to converse back and forth in a very natural and spontaneous manner. It offers all of the necessary elements for effective drum lessons. Plus…it’s really fun! Let’s face it – there’s something inherently cool and interesting about doing live online drum lessons with a person on the other side of the world! It’s kinda like a scene from a science fiction movie or something. But fortunately for us, it’s not fiction at all. Skype is very real, and it works surprisingly well for learning the drums!

Price:  $60 per lesson (one hour)

Online Drum Lessons Option #2

Exchange of pre-recorded video clips. Perhaps you live in a time zone that would make it difficult for us to coordinate live Skype drum lessons. Or perhaps, you simply would prefer to do your online drum lessons in a way that allows you limitless scheduling flexibility. No problem! We can also do lessons by exchanging pre-recorded video clips. We will start out by conversing a bit via email. Then I’ll ask you to prepare a short video of yourself performing some specific drumming tasks. It doesn’t need to be a high quality video. It just needs to let me see you and hear you so that I can get a feel for your drumming. Once you’ve completed the video, you can upload it on YouTube or any other place that allows me to watch it. I will respond by filming a short video myself, giving you personalized feedback and laying out the next steps for you to take in growing as a drummer. After you’ve digested my input, it’s time for you to start preparing your next video clip, and we will continue the cycle. This is an amazing way to teach and learn drums. It allows us to interact in a very personal way, but without the normal limitations of time and space! We both can create our video clips, send them to each other, and watch them at our own convenience without needing to coordinate our schedules.

Price:  $40 per lesson (defined as one video upload from the student, and one video response from me)

What to do next

Please make sure to familiarize yourself with the policies listed on my Lesson Details page, since these policies apply equally to my drum lessons in New York and my online drum lessons. Then simply send me an email through the Get Started page of this website. I will get back to you shortly so that we can arrange to begin your online drum lessons!
